'Aach … Aku Jatuh Cinta' to be screened at film festival in Tokyo

The 2018 Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) is set to feature Indonesian romantic film Aach … Aku Jatuh Cinta, (Aargh ... I’ve Fallen in Love).

Directed by renowned filmmaker Garin Nugroho, Antara reported that the film would be screened during a Crosscut Asia session, which is slated to run from Oct. 25 to Nov. 3.

Starring Chicco Jerikho, Pevita Pearce and Nova Eliza, Ach … Aku Jatuh Cinta follows the story of Rumi and Yulia. The film was first screened in Indonesia in 2016, and it has also been screened at the Busan and Rotterdam film festivals under the title Chaotic Love Poems.

In addition to Aach … Aku Jatuh Cinta, TIFF 2018, along with the Japan Foundation Asia Center, will also screen the anthology Asian Three-Fold Mirror: Journey. The film's world premiere is scheduled to be on Oct. 26 at the 2018 TIFF. Following the premiere, film enthusiasts can watch it in theaters from Nov. 9 to 15.

The omnibus was helmed by Degena Yu from China, Daishi Matsunaga from Japan and Edwin from Indonesia.

The second episode reportedly features Indonesian actor Nicholas Saputra who is best known for his role as Rangga in the romantic film Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? (What's Up with Cinta?). (jes/wng)
